MANUFACTURERS OF LINES AND SYSTEMS WITH COIL‑FED SHEET‑METAL PROCESSING MACHINES.
Produtech is a company strongly oriented toward process innovation. Through a significant commitment to Research & Development, it designs, builds and brings to market an exclusive range of machines that make up sheet‑metal processing lines fed directly from coil.
The first innovative coil‑fed punching machines—highly flexible and with a compact footprint—designed to produce metal components directly from the strip (coil), were introduced to the market in 2002. High‑quality components, with linear and torque motors enabling direct‑drive axis motion, eliminate wear and backlash to ensure working precision and reliability. Punching lines are available with different power ratings, processable thicknesses and coil widths. Further development led to fully electric coil‑fed punching machines, with energy savings and a lower environmental impact.
Subsequently, in 2011, Produtech presented to the market the first coil‑fed fiber laser line, producing directly from the sheet‑metal coil. This absolute first offers huge advantages in terms of raw‑material savings, reduced maintenance and labor, and lower pollutant emissions. It features a smooth sheet support table without pointed slats (no 'bed of nails') and the ability to produce parts of unlimited length thanks to strip feeding and the “repeating‑strip” production mode, which delivers high productivity with a very compact machine layout.
Produtech reached the highest level of its technological development in 2018 with the creation of the combined machine model EffiCOIL. This combination unites, on a single machine, punching and forming technology using mechanical tools with fiber‑laser cutting technology, with a distinctive feature that still makes it unique worldwide: direct feeding from coil. Productivity, flexibility, the absence of changeovers and manual handling, and energy savings are the key characteristics of EffiCOIL. With this innovative project, the European Commission (EU) not only partially funded the development of the first prototype, but also awarded Produtech a Seal of Excellence as an innovative company.
Finally, in 2025, Produtech developed and built a system called AutoCOIL to automate coil changeover during production on Produtech lines. The goal is to make the production approach based on direct coil feeding even more advantageous, avoiding manual, strenuous, hazardous and complex operations to replace the sheet‑metal roll in production—especially for greater thicknesses.
The development of new competencies—consolidated by long experience in this specific sector—has generated advanced technological know‑how that has enabled Produtech to strengthen its presence in the global market by introducing a new and innovative production approach: manufacturing metal components fed directly from coil stock, avoiding shearing into sheet blanks, palletization and handling operations; in addition, this approach reduces the production footprint and minimizes sheet‑metal scrap due to the head and tail remnants typical of sheet‑based processing.
